According to Doctor Branislav Tiodorovic between 400,000 and 600,000 cases of new flu could be registered in Serbia until the end of the season, while 20,000 people might be hospitalized.
Doctor Predrag Kon, Preisdent of the Working group for fight against pandemic says that the measure of closing of schools and kindergartens shall be applied the moment when majority of pupils and teachers stop attending due to illness.
The first supplies of new vaccine against the swine flu can be expected to arrive in Serbia at the end of this or beginning of the next year. Three million doses have been bought from ‘Novartis’. It is estimated that about 900,000 people must take the vaccine.
